Features

It is a sterilized dressing contains alginate fibers derived form seaweed. This wound dressing can absorb wound exudates and form a gel-like covering over the wound, which maintains a moist environment to accelerate wound healing and won’t adhere to wound during dressing changes, which avoids second damage. It can be used in inflammatory exudation (yellow stage) wound, hemolysis wounds, the debridement of refractory wound. The strip alginate is used in the lacuna, antrum wounds, such as nasal cavity, anus and intestines.

Products Application	It is indicated for moderate to heavily exuding chronic and acute wounds, such as: Pressure ulcers, Venous/arterial leg ulcers, Diabetic ulcers, Skin graft donor site wounds, Cavity wounds, Post-surgical wounds. It can be used under compression bandages. As the product contains alginate, it may assist in supporting the control of minor bleeding in superficial wounds.
Instructions	Use saline (or wound cleanser) to clean the wound area. Pat the wound dry. Place the alginate dressing on the wound. If required, place a secondary dressing on top the alginate to hold it in place and to absorb excess fluid. Inspect the dressing daily, examining the wound site daily if infected. Change the bandage once every 5-7 days or when exudate leaks from the edges or into the secondary bandage. When removing the alginate dressing, use saline to dampen it first and avoid damage to the (the wound bed/granulation tissue) If the dressing sticks to the wound, use saline irrigation to rinse.
Cautions	It is not suitable for dry wounds. Make sure the wound area clean and dry before using dressing. Alginate dressing should be 2 cm bigger than the wound area to make sure that dressing could cover skin completely. The dressing should be stayed on wound less than one week. When the exudates decrease, it suggests to change to another kind of dressing, such as hydrocolloid dressing. Make sure the size, depth of cavity wound before using, fill the wound from bottom. Don't left dead space, or may affect the wound healing.
